Adaptive Use of Interactive Whiteboards with the Sweezz

In some cases it is better if the attention of the whole class is not aimed at the IWB.If information is presented in a frontal formation to a particular group, the other students are very easily distracted. For example, if in a combination class, the information or presentation is intended for only one (small) group of students who experience problems with the learning materials, or are already engaged with furthering their education or improving it.

With adaptive education, other methods in ways to learn are raised: e.g. working in groups, independently processing learning materials, research, preparing for presentations. Teachers give information to groups of students, or act more and more as a coach or counsellor.

This results in the need for a system, where the IWB can be used by smaller groups, without the rest of the class being distracted too much.

The solution: swivel the board in any direction in the classroom. This is possible with the Sweezz!

With the Sweezz the IWB (or LCD touchscreen) can quickly and easily be swiveled in different directions, so that the board can be seen by small groups of students or by individual students; without distracting the rest of the class.

Beyond that, the Sweezz Electric has a large range electric height adjustor. Electric height adjustment is possible in all 'sweezzed ' positions.

Accessible Design

The Sweezz is an exciting development given the "ADA Standards for Accessible Design", i.e. those confined to a wheelchair or specialized hospital schools where there is demand for such an easy-to-approach and flexible product.

Preventing Harm

The Sweezz also helps prevent injuries to teachers. If teachers work with an IWB that can not be adjusted in height this could lead to back and arm complaints.

Another factor is the position of the projector. With the short distance placement of the projector to the board, teachers and students don't have to look directly into the lamp.

Placement Over Fixed White Boards

In the most of the cases the Sweezz will be mounted centrally in front of the classroom with whiteboards for fixed information alongside. Depending of the position of the Sweezz, the fixed whiteboard could also be behind the IWB.
